Exterior Design of Unique House Designs SODAE by VMX Architects

The SODAE House is a unique house designed by Dutch architectural firm VMX Architects. This home is located in Amstelveen, Amsterdam, located precisely at Kostverlorenkade; an island measuring 1200m2. This house was built on 500m2, and the initial concept is the perception of the landscape, the tall buildings away from the Zuid As and the Rembrandt Tower as well as the view of the aeroplanes travelling to and from Schiphol. The living room and kitchen are arranged in a loft-like space on the first floor. The more intimate areas (bedrooms and bathrooms) are situated on the ground floor, orientated towards the garden on the backside. The basement contains an additional programme such as a fitness room and a home cinema. The house forms an object in the landscape; the island acts as the plinth.

This chair was originally introduced by Herman Miller in 1955, and become a 20th century furniture icon. The chair has a simple, striking shape and is a very comfortable place to relax with a book. The chair’s cushion is generously padded with a thick, one-piece foam rubber and upholstered in supple black leather. The upholstery is molded into the simple, striking plastic shell, which is lightweight but sturdy. It sits atop a clean, bent-steel, three-legged base with tough nylon glides.
