Modular Outdoor Furniture Seating – Dune by Rainer Mutsch for Eternit

Austrian designers Rainer Mutsch have created a modular outdoor furniture collection called Dune for the Austrian concrete products manufacturer Eternit. ergonomics, durability, ability to mass production, release properties, statics, modularity, and friendly environment, to name only a few. Many prototypes and much research is needed in order to obtain maximum stability of fiber cement 3ddeformed, finally, the geometry of the seat supporting stability through controlled expansion and compression of materials that produce approximately 900kg load capacity on the seating surface. Dune parametres visualization display material-technical maximum of fibercement material. The result is a very stable structure by the load-bearing capacity for demanding requirement profile for public spaces. rain water flows through a hole in the seat surface to the inside of the loop which led directly out of the furniture through the bottom of a curved surface to dry out furniture as fast as possible. The form of all 5 elements of Dune now allows users to move freely on the object and to choose the seating position of each according to his individual taste. This flexibility guarantees maximum comfort on the one hand for the individual and on the other hand facilitate the communication when the elements are arranged in groups. Since Dune has been designed as a system is very modular and extended indefinitely, fits all spatial situation. Possible integration of crops offer additional possibilities to create shadows and to further adjust the room.
