Corben Architects designed the Mosman House in Sydney, Australia. This new three-story, four bedroom, north facing residence, located in block battle ax is designed to take maximum advantage of the view that circulate water and maintain absolute privacy to the adjacent neighbors. The building was home to replace older-style single-level and small must be skillfully designed to comply with the policy division of the local authority agreed to look at and ensure minimal damage to the neighbors saw the rear.

Dick Clark Architecture explained this house a inspired by the clients’ desire to live in a house that reflects their values and lifestyle, the house takes an architecturally minimal approach with simple massing, an understated material palette, and large expanses of glass.

Configured for entertainment, the glass box living area, along with large sliding doors from the dining and pool room invite guests outside onto the pool deck to take in the spectacular view of the Austin skyline. We tried our best to have as little impact on the environment as well. The house has a 3kw solar panel system, instant hot water heaters, bio foam insulation, rain water collection that irrigates a good portion of the lot, very efficient mechanical systems, and low e glass.

The Ross Street Modern House Design by Richard Wittschiebe Hand Architects

Carol’s most recent design is a collaboration with her mechanical engineer husband, Fred Berg. Their residence, known as the Ross Street House, was recognized as Wisconsin’s first LEED for Homes Platinum rated residence in July 2009. The home has captured the attention of green enthusiasts throughout the country for far exceeding the requirements to achieve the highest LEED rating of Platinum.

Carol Richard, founding partner of the Atlanta-based architecture firm Richard Wittschiebe Hand, returned home to Madison, Wisconsin last summer to build her house. “When I was a young architect,” says Carol, “I designed and built a house for myself in Atlanta and I’ve always wanted to build again and take advantage of the things I’ve learned over my career.”

Timber decked terraces either side of the living area provide outdoor seating options for different wind directions. The sheltered rear courtyard, framed by the building, large water tanks and timber screens focuses on a wood fired pizza oven.
