Redmond Street Houses Modern Interior Design by Bojan Simic

Australian architect Bojan Simic has designed the Redmond Street Houses in Melbourne.The site at Redmond Street is uniquely perched on top of a land crest that descends rapidly towards the Yarra River and Studley Park in Melbourne’s inner eastern suburb of Kew. The symmetrical footprint is divided into two zoned wings, one for parents and one for children. The central spine accommodating the living zones unites the two wings via frameless glass links.

The pavilion inspired houses are nestled into the tiered natural land form and characterized by large expanses of glass providing thermal insolation and balanced natural light to interior spaces along with elevated views of surrounding parkland and distant cityscape. The projecting blade-like skillion roof form provides passive thermal control to interiors during the summer months as does the curved timber batten screen which softens the sharp geometric lines of the exterior composition.

Australian architect Bojan Simic has designed the Thiang Residence in Melbourne.This project was designed to accommodate three generations of a family in two distinctive individual homes clustered around introspective communal gardens – a place for the extended family to unite and come together.

The brief included expansive, light filled, easily accessible spaces with low maintenance finishes for the clients and living flexibility for their growing family. The completed buildings conform to the clients functional requirements as well as their cultural heritage with contemporary interpretations of traditional oriental built forms.

Modern Best Interior Design Kitchen

So since I needed a really good Best Interior Design Kitchen – I was only going to do this once – I flipped through some interior design magazines, visited a few home

The pictures presented in this post are from a Melbourne based design firm named Matt Gibson. Their design solutions are based on light, material and patterns of movement. As you can see from these pictures they focus on contemporary and modern rooms, that are characterized by clean lines, and a lot of open space. Matt Gibson won the Interior Design Awards 2006 for the Best Residential Interior.
