Hex Chair

Incorporated’s Hex Chair extends the Hex series into the realm of upholstered goods. The series originated with the Hex Table which explores systemic ordering and modular relationships, offering infinite possibility for the table’s ultimate configuration and size. Functionally, the Hex Chair embraces the modern need for flexibility. Theoretically, it offers a visual metaphor for the design process – the suggestion of an open-ended repetition. One can imagine an endless landscape of Hex furnishings in ever changing configurations. On one hand, the form of the Hex Chair is indebted to the timeless geometry of nature, a foundation for design principles and on the other is indebted to American minimalism.

Branch Table

A tree grows in Beta. The Incorporated Branch Table explores systems of branching and random order to create a side table of unique design. Mimicking the geometry of a tree, the Branch Table was developed in collaboration with the Stevens Institute of Technology, the oldest engineering school in the United States. The Branch Table utilizes a computer algorithm to grow one of kind branching objects, each one unique. These unique branch structures are then fabricated in this case using stereo lithographic 3D printing technologies. Each Branch Table is just one iteration of endless random geometric possibilities.

Bar House by New York based architectural Firm Peter Gluck & Partners

Bar House by New York based architectural firm Peter Gluck & Partners is located on a deep narrow valley, bounded by a river on one edge and a road on the other. The geometrical form designed to give a sense of floating across the valley, while providing the best view to the valley from the roof-top terrace. + Project description courtesy of Peter Gluck & Partners

The simple and strong geometric shape of this house – which is a bar set boldly across, rather than nestling along, the valley floor – stands up to the rugged and majestic mountains that surround it. Despite its strength, the house is partly submerged in the ground, as if to lock it into the landscape. The views up and down the valley dominate the interior spaces, but they are tempered in different ways by the varied size and placement of the windows and the shape of the rooms. The winter weather is severe, and the sun reaches the bottom of the narrow valley only from the south. The bedrooms and the family room are located in a single-loaded corridor on the south side of the second floor. The linear program gives each room southern exposure and provides spectacular views of the valley.

normally, degustation or tasting meals would turn me away because they tend to cost a lot while offering only petite-sized portions rather than a hearty meal. yeah, yeah, i know that’s the idea, but still… anyway, dozo is one restaurant that offers degustation meals at much friendlier prices.
