A house is the work of Kanner Architects in the hills of Oakland, California. Description of Kanner Architects: Located in Oakland, California, in the down-sloping site high above the bay of San Francisco, this house is designed to capture the magnificent view stretching from the Gulf of Bright to the Golden Gate Bridge. Floor to ceiling glass clean way for unobstructed views. Especially the south-west orientation of the power required overhang to reduce glare and soften the light quality at home.

Three Level Green House for Three Family Generations

This house Designed by Berkley-based McGlashan Architecture is located on a beautiful hillside in Marin Country, near San Francisco. Its form and color are inspired by the hillside landscape. It has three levels and three generations of an extended family live there.

Roofs of all three levels are planted with drought resistant and native gardens. Besides that it is super insulated and designed for passive solar conditioning. With the solar panel array, it is also designed for a net-zero energy footprint. Thanks to generous decks, window walls, and big openings the house is very wheel connected to the outdoors.

Lighting is designed by San Francisco based architect Johanna Grawunder. Grawunder’s two installations are Cherry Blossom; a mobile-like chandelier installation of LED lit lucite panels and Tangerines; a series of suspended orange lucite boxes along the windowed perimeter.
